Ramgarh: Man’s body found hanging from tree in Kuju

Ramgarh, Sept 12: The body of a man was found hanging from a Mahua and recovered by the local police in Hukragarha forest of Bongawar village under Kuju OP area of Ramgarh district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as 53-year-old Karu Mahato, a resident of Bongawar Munda Tola.

Karu Mahto had left his house around 6 am on Sunday. When he did not return, the family started searching for him. Meanwhile, some women of the village were alarmed to see a dead person swinging from a rope from a Mahua tree in the Hukragada jungle and immediately alerted the others.

The villagers reached the spot and discovered it was Karu Mahto’s body. The Kuju OP police arrived at the scene with the armed forces and removed the body on getting the information. The body was sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

According to the police, prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide.
