Ramgarh, Feb 2: An FIR has been lodged in the Ramgarh police station by the District Mining Department against the 40 brick kilns operating in the Ramgarh district on Wednesday. District Mining Officer Nitesh Kumar Gupta said illegal coals are being used in the brick kilns operating in the district.

Notably, steps have been taken to operate the kiln without environmental clearance and consent to operate. Thus, this is for the first time that action has been taken against the 40 brick kilns simultaneously.

Around hundreds of brick kilns operate illegally in the district. The matter came to light after Mining Inspector Vinod Bihari Pramanik lodged an FIR against 40 brink kilns owners at the Ramgarh police station. This sudden action by the district administration has distressed the people associated with the brick kiln business.

As per the information, the long-running brick kilns have also revealed that illegal coal is being used in the business.

Meanwhile, the Mining Inspector said that all brick kiln operators were illegally mining brick soil to produce bricks. Bricks are baked using stolen coal. Brick kiln operators do not have mining certificates or pollution certificates. Brick kiln operators work without certificates. The business is illegally run by all the kiln owners, which is causing a loss to government revenue.
