Ramgarh, Nov 1: A 14-year-old teenager Prince Kumar drowned on Monday while bathing in the IAG Dam in Bhadaninagar. Prince, son of Daltenganj resident Indrajit Saw, had come with his mother to celebrate Nanihal Chhath in Bhurkunda Sundernagar.

After offering Arghya to the rising sun, he returned home to Nana Shankar Saw. Later, Prince along with two local friends went to the IAG Dam in Bhadaninagar to take a bath. In this sequence, a friend of Prince was also drowning in the water and was saved by the local people.

As he was saved from drowning, he informed the villagers about Prince and a rescue operation was carried out. By the time the villagers took out Prince from the depths of the dam with hard work, both his friends escaped.

Further, the family took Prince to Asha Nursing Home at Bhurkunda Laxmi Talkies Maidan and later to Hope Hospital in Ramgarh, where doctors declared him brought dead. This incident caused a wave of mourning in the Bhurkunda coalfield.
