Ramgarh, May 19: Under the leadership of Ramgarh Civil Surgeon Dr Prabhat, camps related to fluorosis disease are being organized by Dr Savita Verma and her team under the NPPCF (National Programme for Prevention and Control of Fluorosis) programme in all panchayats of Ramgarh district.  In this sequence, a camp related to fluorosis was organized on Friday in the panchayat building of Ichatu panchayat of Dulmi block.

A total of 35 persons of all age groups were tested for fluorosis, in which a urine test of 27 suspected persons was done and fluorosis disease was confirmed in 3 persons.  Along with this, diabetes and blood pressure etc. of all people above 30 years were checked by CHO Anupama Kalkho and Rupa Kumari.  At the same time, physiotherapist Dr Sawan Kumar also conducted leprosy related tests for many people.

District Nodal Officer Dr Savita Verma informed everyone that this disease affects teeth and bones. In this, the bones become crooked and brown spots and erosion start in the teeth.  Along with this, she said that to avoid fluorosis disease, we should include more and more nutritious food in our diet as well as do regular exercise.  “Because these small changes can save us from fluorosis, diabetes, blood pressure and heart disease,” she added.

District Consultant, NPPCF Dr Pallavi Kaushal informed that fluorosis is an incurable disease which has the ability to destroy bones gradually and prevention is the only cure.  “To prevent this disease, everyone should include substances like green vegetables, fruits and milk in their food and avoid using black salt because black salt is a major cause of fluorosis disease,” she said.  Along with giving information to everyone, she said that any person can get a free fluorosis test done in the Sadar Hospital.
