Ramgarh, July 14: The West Bokaro police in Ramgarh district nabbed nine members of an interstate bike-lifter gang. They also recovered ten bikes from their possession.
Ramgarh SP Prabhat Kumar informed in a press conference today that an anti-crime and vehicle checking campaign was being conducted near Sarubeda 04 No. Chowk under the West Bokaro OP area of Ramgarh district.
During the checking, a rider on a bike without a number plate was signalled by the police to stop. But seeing the police force, the person riding the said motorcycle tried to escape by leaving the motorcycle behind.
However, he was caught by the police force present there.

During the interrogation, the person revealed his name as Manish Kumar Karmali, a resident of Barkachumba. It was revealed by him that the said motorcycle is of theft. He confessed that he along with other gang members are involved in motorcycle theft incidents in Ramgarh, Ranchi, and Hazaribagh districts since last year.
After receiving the information, the police taking quick action formed a special team to nab the other members.
Police have registered a case at the West Bokaro police station in this regard and action is being taken by them against the arrested persons.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mukesh Kumar Mahto, Santosh Kumar Mahato, Haricharan Bedia, Ashish Kumar Munda, Mithun Kumar, Saurav Kumar Munda, Manish Kumar Karmali, Rahul Kumar Rai, Manoj Kumar Bhuyan and Ravi Thakur.
