New Delhi, July 14: A plea asking for the National Eligibility cump Entrance Test (NEET) undergraduate test to be postponed for the year 2022 was denied by the Delhi High Court on Thursday.
The petitioners’ claim that NEET and other national level exams have conflicting exam dates was rejected by single-judge Justice Sanjeev Narula.
“There is absolutely no merit in the petition. Dismissed,” the Court ordered.
The single judge bench said that he was inclined to pass an order against the applicants.
“But only because they are students I am not going to. If such petitions are filed then the court will not shy away from imposing costs,” Court made it clear.
Notably, the NEET will take place on July 17. According to a group of students’ complaint, there is only a one- to the two-day gap between the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), the Common University Entrance Test, and the NEET UG test schedule and other national level exams (CUET).
“Respondents scheduled National Level examinations CUET, NEET- UG and JEE in the month of July 2022 having a time gap of 1 or 2 days, wherein the syllabus of all three examinations is completely different,” the plea had said.
