Ramgarh, July 2: Ramgarh’s Senior Consultant and Gynecologist Dr Santwana Sharan was conferred with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Appreciation Award on the occasion of National Doctors’ Day on Friday (July 1).
Ramgarh’s doctors expressing their happiness said, “It’s a matter of pride for Jharkhand state as the genuine efforts and services of doctors of Jharkhand were appreciated at the national level.”
The award was given to Dr Sharan by the National President of IMA, Dr Sahajanand Prasad Singh, on the behalf of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State for Family Welfare Bharti Pawar.
The award ceremony was organised at Dr AKN Sinha Memorial Hall, IMA Bhawan, New Delhi in a gathering of elite doctors & VIPs from all over India.
Dr Sharan is the Convener of Jharkhand for Mission Pink Health and is the Vice President of East Zone in the National IMA team for the Women Doctor Wing of IMA.
She informed that the doctors working in different districts of Jharkhand are also implementing the programs of Mission Pink Health with great enthusiasm. “It is the result of their enthusiasm and dedication that this prestigious Doctor’s Day award has come to Jharkhand,” she said.
“A lot more work needs to be done to make the benefits of this program reach more and more people. On the 9th of every month, I go to different villages at the panchayat level with my entire team and give my service to pregnant women,” she added.
Dr Sharan also thanked her husband Dr Sudhir Arya for his constant encouragement and support for this award.
