Ramgarh, Feb 18: World Archery Excellence Center has invited Team India along with 24 athletes and 5 officials to attend an Archery Training Seminar to be held in Lausanne, Switzerland from 20th February 2022 to 3rd March 2022.
Six players from Junior Recv Boys, six players from Junior Recv Girls, six players from Junior Compound Boys, six players from Junior Compound Girls, including five coaches and officials have been selected from different states of India.
Vikash Upadhyay, a resident of Bazarantand of West Bokaro, Ramgarh has also been selected as a coach in this archery training seminar to be held in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The seminar will take place at the World Center of Excellence in Archery, Chemin du Chalet Pra Roman Lausanne. Tom Dielen, Director of the World Archery Center of Excellence, has sent this invitation letter an endorsement for Team India members to obtain necessary travel documents for visa purposes.
Vikas Upadhyay started trying his hand at athletics at the age of 12 by joining West Bokaro Coaching Center in 2005. After the establishment of the feeder center in 2007, his training started in Archery.
Later, he was selected as a player in Tata Archery Academy Jamshedpur where he spent his four years and during this time he got medals for Jharkhand at the national level.
He also contributed as a coach in West Bokaro Archery Feeder Center from the year 2016 to the year 2019. During this tenure, he achieved many achievements and prepared trainee players at the national level.
Given his merit in the year 2020, he was selected as an assistant coach in the country’s renowned academy Tata Archery Academy.
He stayed here and taught the nuances of training under the guidance of Dronacharya Avadi Dharmendra Tiwari and Poornima Mahto.
Seeing his hard work, the Archery Federation of India showed his faith in him and selected him to represent the Indian team.
