Ranchi, Oct 25: The winter schedule of Ranchi Airport will be up by October 25 and three new flights for Goa, Guwahati and Deoghar will also begin in order to boost tourism in the state.

To connect Ranchi with these three places, airline companies have sent a proposal to the Airport Authority of India (AAI). Once approved, it will be sent to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). After a final nod by the DGCA, the winter schedule will commence.

However, the airline companies are yet to decide the fare of flights which will be operating to these three different places from Ranchi.

Lagatar24.com contacted the Ranchi Airport Director KL Agarwal who said that they are yet to receive a notification regarding it and will do things accordingly once it is approved by the AAI and DGCA.

Similarly, the PR of Indigo Airlines said the same when asked about the details.

Notably, there was a demand for a long time for direct flights from Ranchi to North-East and Goa. After the inauguration of the new airport at Deoghar, a 72-seater flight is running to and fro between Kolkata to Deoghar. The plan is to turn this flight into the Kolkata-Ranchi-Deoghar flight which will be beneficial for passengers as well as the airline companies.

The officials at Ranchi Airports said that even though Indigo Airlines has sent a proposal with regard to the direct flight between Ranchi and Goa, it will only be approved keeping in mind the passenger movement between the two cities.

The Proposed Flights:

  • Indigo’s Kolkata-Ranchi-Deoghar flight service – 3 PM.
  • Air Asia’s Bengaluru-Ranchi-Guwahati flight service – noon.
  • Indigo’s direct flight from Ranchi to Goa – 5 PM.
  • Indigo’s Ranchi-Lucknow flight – 1 PM/ 7-8 PM.
