Ranchi, April 8: The Archbishop of Ranchi Diocese Felix Toppo paid tribute to Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto today during a programme organised by Jharkhand Christian Minority Educational Institutions at Dr Kamil Bilke auditorium at Manresa House.
“Jagarnath Mahato understood the heart of Jharkhand while being the education minister and worked to improve the education system of the state. I pray to God for the bereaved family members. May his family should get courage and patience. We have lost a true revolutionary soldier of Jharkhand,” he said.
Director of Hoffman Law Association, Father Mahendra Peter Tigga, remembered Mahto for the help extended to educational institutions and teachers.
“Jagarnath Mahto himself tried to solve every possible problem not only for the minority educational institutions of Jharkhand but also for all the educational institutions and teachers,” he said.
Jharkhand Minority School Secretary Ramesh Kumar Singh remembered Mahto for the work he did for the minority educational institutions of Jharkhand.
Former TAC member Ratan Tirkey remembered Mahto as a “strong guide of youth.”
Former TAC member Prabhakar Tirkey remembered Mahto for playing a ‘leading role’ in the Jharkhand movement.
Among the institutions which paid tributes included Jharkhand Christian Minority Educational Institute, Gramguru Education Center, Jharkhand Secondary Teachers Association, Jharkhand Non-Government Recognized Primary and Middle School Teachers Association, Hoffman Law Associate, Working People’s Alliance.
Those present on the occasion included St John’s School Principal Fr Vinod Toppo, besides Fr Alex Ekka, Fr Ranjit Horo, Pa Justin Tirkey, Joy Bakhala, Pa Ritesh Dungdung, Satya Bharti director Alex Tirkey other than, Fr Mukul Kullu, Sister Dorothea Kullu, Sister Mukta Marandi, Sister Lily Grace Tete, Sister Selin Bara, Sister Sunita Lakda and others.
Father Mahendra Peter Tigga conducted the condolence meeting.
