Ranchi, August 10: Journalist and author Santosh Kiro on Wednesday launched a new book named ‘Tribal Philosophy’. According to Kiro, this is a research-based book.
He added that despite it being on a topic like Philosophy, it can be easily understood by the common reader. It is a philosophical study of the myths, folk tales, folk songs and folk life of the tribal communities of central India, especially the Munda and Oraon communities, and is written from a perspective comparable to Vedic and Western philosophy at many points.
This is the fifth book by Kiro as he has earlier written books such as Eternal Mystery, Life and Times of Jaipal Singh, Elephant Stories and Journey of Jharkhand Movement.
Many professors from the Department of Philosophy of various universities, who participated in the Jharkhand Tribal Festival, also took part in the release of the book. Dr Roshan Khalkho of Lohardaga College and Bernard Toppo of Kolhan University were also present.
Awarded Padma Vibhushan and former Vice President of Philosophical Research Council of India Professor Mrinal Miri, Former Professor of Philosophical Department of Nehru University Sujata Miri, Assistant Professor of Philosophical Department of Delhi University Ayesha Gautam, Associate Professor of Philosophy Department of Kolhan University were present during the occasion.
