Ranchi, March 20: Former assembly speaker and Ranchi MLA C.P.Singh today got engaged in a heated argument in the house on the issue of getting incomplete and wrong answers from the government officials in the house.
The situation came when Hazaribagh legislator Manish Jaiswal raised the issue of poor attention to the cases related to POCSO, NDPS and Cyber Acts but he did not get a proper reply from the government. First, the reply, which ought to be given by the law department, was given by the home department. Secondly, the information which Jaiswal had already procured from the law department contradicted the reply of the home department.
When Jaiswal was arguing on the issue with the parliamentary affairs minister, the speaker said that he will look into the matter. On which Singh sought permission to speak. As Singh sought permission, speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto got angry. He alleged Singh of unnecessarily interfering in the discussion between a legislator and minister.
On this, CP Singh justified his intervention saying he as a legislator was not sitting in the house as a mute spectator and has every right to know what the fact is. He expressed his concern over the wrong reply and the minister coming unprepared in the house.
On which, Speaker Mahto said his intention was to get the matter sorted out instead of passing the time on unnecessary allegations and counter allegations.
