Ranchi, April 28: The commuters travelling through Kantatoli Chowk towards Namkum are facing obstacles while driving near the Indian Oil petrol pump as the broken divider grill is occupying parts of the road.
This happened after an accident took place in the area on Sarhul’s night. Since then, the divider grill is in a bad condition but no actions have been taken by the Public Works Department yet.
The local residents of the area have said that it is an accident-prone area and now with the grill hanging on the road; it has become even more dangerous.
During the peak hours of the day, driving becomes difficult at the particular place because vehicles have to slow down which causes long traffic jams. This has been happening quite often since the accident as informed by one of the local fruit vendors.
“At night, while travelling through this route, people always tend to drive fast and at times, they have had minor escapes near the hanging grill. Especially for commuters using two-wheelers, it can be life-threatening,” said Alam, owner of a general store in Kantatoli.
Lagatar24.com tried to connect with the officials from the Department of Road Construction but after several attempts, there was no response from their end.
