Ranchi, Sept 16: A day after the murder of a Ranchi-based businessman, Ankit Sarraf (35), in Khunti, the Federation of All India Vyapar Mandal (FEM) today wrote a letter to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren seeking his intervention into the matter to ensure proper probe and appropriate compensation to the kin of deceased.
The organization’s state general secretary Dipesh Nirala in his letter to the CM demanded Rs one crore as compensation besides strong action against criminals.
The organization expressed its concern over the poor security of businessmen in the state and called upon the traders to come together to stop such incidents in the future.
Sarraf, who ran a garment shop in Ranchi’s Doranda, left his house at 7 am on Thursday saying he was going some urgent work. In the evening, his body was recovered with its head smashed with stone while his scooty, money and phone were found intact.
