SUBHASH MISHRA
Ranchi, March 22: Dr. Pradip Kumar Singh, the secretary of the Jharkhand Indian Medical Association (IMA), has become a member of the Standing Committee for Social Media (SCSM) for the term 2023–2024.
The Standing Committee for Social Media has been reconstituted by IMA president Dr. Sharad Kumar Agrawal for a two-year term with immediate effect.
Dr. Pradip Kumar Singh of Jharkhand and Dr. Brajnandan Kumar of Bihar have been nominated to this exclusive committee. A notification has been released by Dr. Anil Kumar J Nayak, Secretary General of IMA. As per the information, Dr. D. R. Rai of Delhi has been nominated as chairman of the SCSM. Furthermore, Dr. Pradeep Singh of Uttar Pradesh and Dr. Divya Saxena of Haryana have been proposed as vice-chairmen. Also, Dr. Sulphi Noohu of Kerala has been appointed as the convener of the 21-person committee.
According to IMA sources, Dr. Pradip Kumar Singh, who has served as the state chapter secretary, has been nominated owing to his ten years of struggle in fighting for the welfare of doctors.
This is the first time that three senior active leaders from the doctor’s wing of Jharkhand have been included in the IMA committees. Prior to that, the 10-member Standing Committee for Building and the 21-member Standing Committee for Academic and Accreditation Board received the nominations of IMA state convener Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh of Ranchi and IMA state president Dr. AK Singh of Dhanbad.
In 2013, Dr. Singh was appointed secretary of the Jharkhand chapter. In the ten years span, Singh led agitations whenever a doctor in Jharkhand fell victim to injustice or torture. Dr. Singh’s work on the Medical Protection Act (MPA) and his firm stance when doctors were attacked in Dhanbad, Jamtara, Hazaribag, Garhwa, Palamu, and Ranchi left a lasting impression on the national body’s office-holders.
Dr. Pradip Kumar Singh has been congratulated by the Jharkhand Health Service Association (JHSA) and the members of the IMA state chapter. They also expressed that they are hopeful that his involvement in the national organization will bring honor to the state.
