Ranchi: DPS holds inter-school group singing competition

Ranchi, Nov 8: The DPS Ranchi on Tuesday hosted the State Level competition ‘Rashtriya Samuh Gaan Pratiyogita’ – an inter-school group singing competition. The competition was organised by the Jharkhand Branch of Bharat Vikas Parishad and had more than 100 participants in a total of eight teams from across the state. Swami Bhaweshanand Maharaj Ji, Secretary, Ram Krishna Mission, Ranchi graced the programme as the Chief Guest.

Students and crown vocalists of Delhi Public School (Ranchi), Bridgeford School (Tupudana, Ranchi), Delhi Public School (Dhanbad), Raj Kamal Saraswati Vidya Mandir (Dhanbad), Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir (Medninagar, Daltonganj), Ram Prasad Chandrabhan Saraswati Vidya Mandir (Ramgarh), Child Progressive School (Jhumritelaiya), DAV (Swang) participated in the contest and were accompanied by their mentors.

The programme began with the welcome address by the state President of Bharat Vikas Parishad, G N Singh. In his address, Singh welcomed the dignitaries, teachers and participants and encouraged them to maintain the unity and harmony of the nation.

The participants showcased their vocal and instrumental skills through patriotic songs in Hindi and Sanskrit languages captivating the audience.

Delhi Public School (Ranchi) bagged the first position in the competition while Delhi Public School (Dhanbad) and Raj Kamal Saraswati Vidya Mandir (Dhanbad) secured second and third positions respectively. Delhi Public School (Ranchi) also qualified for the Regional level of the competition.

Speaking on the occasion, Swami Bhaweshanand Maharaj Ji inspired the students to work with dedication for nation-building and the betterment of society as they are the future pillars. He also shared the importance of education and moral values in one’s life.

Principal Dr Ram Singh congratulated the winners and wished them luck for the next round of the competition.
