Ranchi, July 15: The Special Court of ED today rejected the petition filed by ex-Mining Secretary Pooja Singhal’s CA Suman Kumar Singh.

Singh had filed the petition demanding his release from custody saying even after the ED has filed the prosecution complaint (PC) cognizance has not been taken against him. Civil court lawyers Shambhu Agrawal and Akshay Sharma argued on behalf of Singh.

On May 6, the ED had raided as many as 36 locations of Singhal. During the raid, the ED recovered Rs 19.76 cash from Singh’s residence and office. Later, the ED arrested Singh on May 7 and Pooja Singhal on May 11. Both were interrogated in police custody for 14 days, which gave the ED important information about unaccounted money and income. In this case, the ED has submitted the chargesheet in the court recently.
