Ranchi gets major share in state team for U-15,17 national badminton championship

Dhanbad, Nov 14: Players of Ranchi have got a major share in the state teams of boys and girls announced for the sub-junior national badminton championship to be held in Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) from December 25 to 30.

Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA) secretary K Prabhakar Rao while announcing the team said that players have been selected on basis of their performance in the Jharkhand Sub-Junior Badminton Championship (under-15 and under-17) which concluded on Sunday evening in Dhanbad.

The winner and runners-up of each event and the winners of doubles in the boys and girls group have been selected for the team which will represent the state in the national championship.

Secretary Rao congratulated the players for their selection to the state team and praised Dhanbad Badminton Association officials for organizing the state championship successfully. He expressed hope that the Jharkhand team would perform as per their potential in the national championship.

Selected players are-

  • U-15 Boys Singles- Sujal Rakshit (Dhanbad), Ashu Gopal (Ranchi),
  • U-15 Boys Doubles- Krish Dubey, Suraj Pratap Singh (Jamshedpur)
  • U-15 Girls Singles- Ananya Singh (Ranchi), Pihu Singh (Dhanbad)
  • U-15 Girls Doubles- Anishka Tyagi, Vaibhavi Srivastava (Jamshedpur)

 

  • U-17 Boys Singles- Niraj Keshri (Ranchi), Rupesh Raj (Jamshedpur)
  • U-17 Boys Doubles- Raunak Negi, Rupesh Raj (Jamshedpur)
  • U-17 Girls Singles- Aadhya Singh (Saraikela), Ananya Singh (Ranchi)
  • U-15 Girls Doubles- Aadhya Singh, Sarah Sharma (Saraikela/Jamshedpur)
