Ranchi institutes invite companies for placement camps

Placement to begin second week of October and continue till December

Ranchi, Oct 6: Several top educational institutes in the city are preparing to hold placement camps for their students after the festive season. The institutes have invited several companies involving different sectors in their placement camps.

The institutes include IIM Ranchi, BIT Mesra and XISS. The placement process is to start from the second week of October, and will continue till December. Students of the 2022-23 session will be participating in the placement camps.

Officials of the institutes have said that this year companies will be prioritizing online interviews like the last year. Most of the placements have been done online for the past two years due to the pandemic.

However, placement cell officials have said that several companies will also be visiting campuses despite conducting online interviews.

The colleges have stated that most of the students in last year’s placement cell were placed in the IT and Consultancy sectors. Apart from this, students were selected in Finance, Banking, Automobile, and Manufacturing sectors as well. This year, however, several companies that will be visiting would be from the IT sector.

XISS is set to hold campus placement for the students of the 2022-23 batch. According to the Institute Placement Cell, several companies from different sectors have been invited to offer campus placement to students. Last year the highest package in XISS was Rs 20 lakh.

BIT Mesra’s final year students will be placed in companies this year. Here companies have been invited for campus placement.

According to the placement cell of the institute, companies will start coming for placement this month. Last year’s campus placements in BIT Mesra saw 40 percent of the average package in the IT sector and 25 percent in the consultancy sector.

Last year, 235 companies participated in the placement camp held by the institute. In the last session 2021-22, the highest package in the campus placement of BIT Mesra was Rs 59 lakhs. The average package was Rs 11 lakh annually.

IIM Ranchi has also invited companies from different sectors to participate in the placement camp for its students. As per placement coordinators, last year had the highest package of Rs 32 lakh. An average package of Rs 16 lakh was offered here.
