Ranchi, May 24: The Mass Communication Department of the Gossner College organised a five-day Audio Production workshop at its premises that will end on May 28. The speaker on the occasion was eminent audio expert Tej Mundu.
The programme began with Mundu giving basic information about sound to students. He explained the process of sound being created, travelling through air and reaching the ears of a listener. He further talked about the different types of microphones including Dynamic, Condenser and Ribbon microphones.
He further explained the build of the different microphones, along with their usage. Mundu also talked about the different pickup patterns of microphones used in events or during recordings. Along with this, the speaker, also in detail explained the different uses of the different microphones based on their pick up patterns. Here he talked of the six essential microphone pickup patterns that every filmmaker should know about.
Students present on the occasion also got to learn about the different types of equipment other than microphones, used in audio production along with the complete process of audio production.
Prof Mahima Bilung, Prof Anuj Kumar, Shubhashish, Vinay, Manish, and Innocent along with 25 other participants were present on the occasion.
