Ranchi, April 28: An unidentified caller impersonating himself as a PLFI extremist demanded an amount of Rs 50 lakh from a businessman in Pundag, Basant Kumar Sahu, to strengthen the extremist organisation.

The caller threatened Sahu with dire consequences in case of non-payment of the amount.

Sahu registered an FIR at Pundag police station. So far, no one has been arrested in this connection.

Sahu’s entire family is terrified after the call as earlier PLFI had killed Sahu’s elder brother Deepak Sahu.

Officer-in-charge of Pundag police station Arvind Kumar Singh said “investigation is on.”

“Sahu had received a call in January this year. After that, he had not received any call in this connection. We got information today and started our probe. It is difficult to give any conclusive statement till things become very clear,” Singh added.
