Ranchi, May 7: Ranchi police arrested three before they could kill a land dealer. The example of preventive policing came forward from Kanke.

SP (rural) Naushad informed this by organizing a press conference. He said that the breakthrough came after the police team swung into action following the direction of senior superintendent of police (SSP) Surendra Kumar Jha, who got a tip-off regarding the movement of the criminals in the Kanke area.

Those arrested criminals include Vishwajit Kumar Singh, Suraj Kumar Singh and Shubham Kumar Singh. Police also recovered three firearms with four rounds of live cartridges from their possession.

During the interrogation they admitted their plan saying the prey was one Anil Singh Munda.

On February 12, 2022, Munda was shot and injured. He returned to his home after being discharged from the hospital on March 14, 2022.

After returning, Vishwajit Singh gave him an extortion call demanding Rs 20 lakh and threatened him with dire consequences in case of non-payment of the said amount.
