Ranchi, Jan.17: Police have arrested three youths of age group 20-25 for committing rape with a minor student of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya.

The three include Sohan Kumar, Qudus Ansari and Ansari. Except for Qudus, the remaining two are residents of Nagri and Chanho.  Qudus has no fixed place to stay and has a criminal background. He is a driver by profession.

The trio had allegedly kidnapped the girl on a car and raped her in turn in the car. The incident took place when the girl, accompanied by two other girls, had gone for running practice at Chanho on Sunday morning.

“Trio attempted to kidnap all but became successful in kidnapping just one. Two managed to escape,” a police official said.

The arrest took place within 24 hours of the reporting of the incident at Chanho police station. As the victim was not able to explain the exact place of occurrence, arrest could be possible with the help of an intelligence cell.
