Ranchi, June 18: One person has been detained by the Ranchi police in the Pandra double murder case.

Rohan Kumar, a resident of Bank Colony in Pandra, has been identified as the person who has been apprehended. It is claimed that Rohan, joined by two others, carried out the murder in the early hours of Saturday. Two people who accompanied Rohan are also being sought by the police.

Arrests were made based on Rohan’s mobile phone location. Chanda Singh (40), the mother of deceased Shweta (17) and Pravin Kumar Singh (14), alerted police about Rohan’s presence at the scene.

Chanda claimed that when she was cleaning the house at 3 am before going to the temple, Rohan barged in with two of his friends. He murdered Pravin first by tying his wrists and legs, then attacked Shweta in front of her. Afterwards, they attacked Chanda and fled from the scene.

The incident took place in Janak Nagar Road no 4 near Ojha Market under Pandra PS.

An FSL team has been called to the PO for investigation. Police recovered the blade of a knife from the place of occurrence. Preliminary information suggests that the incident is the outcome of the relationship between the deceased girl and a boy. However, the police are probing other angles also.
