Ranchi, Aug.31: Ranchi police have arrested three persons for dealing in illegal firearms.

The three included Shaurya Raj, Bunty Kumar and Satyam Kumar. One country-made pistol and 102 rounds of live cartridges were also recovered from their possession.

Ranchi Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Kaushal Kishore informed about the breakthrough at a press conference at his office where all three arrested were produced before the media.

SSP Kishore said that the arrest took place on Hatia station road after police under the leadership of Hatia Deputy SP Raja Mitra and Jagannathpur police station in-charge Arvind Kumar Singh swung into action.

One of the arrested Satyam Kumar is from Bihar. He used to bring firearms from Bihar to supply in different areas of Ranchi. On August 30, Satyam had given firearms to Shaurya Raj and Bunty for sale. As the matter came to the attention of the police, all were arrested.

SSP Kishore said they have earlier sold arms and bullets to many people and an attempt is also on to nab those who also purchase illegal arms from them.
