New Delhi, Aug 31: Delhi’s Patiala House Court summoned actor Jacqueline Fernandez, directing her to appear in court on September 26, in connection with a Rs 200cr extortion case involving conman Sukesh.
The court takes cognizance of the supplementary chargesheet filed by Enforcement Directorate in the case recently. In the case, Enforcement Directorate listed Jacqueline Fernandez as an accused.
Meanwhile, a lawyer appearing for Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing informed the court that actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been also summoned by Delhi Police on September 12, 2022, to join the probe.
According to sources, the ED discovered Jacqueline to be the recipient of the extortionate money’s proceeds. The ED thinks she knew that extortionist Sukesh Chandrashekhar was a con guy. Key witnesses and defendants have admitted in their statements that Jacqueline Fernandez frequently utilised video calls to communicate with Sukesh.
