Ranchi, June 22: More than 24 hours after the supporters of AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi welcomed him shouting “Pakistan Jindabad” at the Birsa Munda Airport in the Jharkhand capital, the district administration has not registered any FIR in this connection.

SDO of Ranchi Sadar area Deepak Kumar Dubey, who had constituted a two-member committee of Dy S.P (Hatia) Raja Kumar Mitra, and Hehal Circle Officer Om Prakash Mandal to probe the matter, said he is waiting for a report to take action into the matter.

Dy SP Mitra did not take call when attempted twice in between 4.09pm to 4.13pm for his comment. CO Mandal said the process is on to prepare the report.

BJP state president and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash has taken strong exception to the matter.

“For speaking the truth against the Hemant government, I was sued for sedition by the state government in just a few hours. But not taking any action against those who say Pakistan Zindabad in welcoming Owaisi to the holy land of Birsa Munda exposes the face of the chief minister,” Prakash tweeted expressing his concern over the delay in registration of an FIR.

One Subodh Prakash supported his tweet replying “The land of Jharkhand is becoming land of anti-nationals somewhere that people are openly raising slogans of Pakistan Zindabad in public places. Very unfortunate situation,” the tweet reads. The tweet was retweeted 89 times. Four quoted the tweets while 316 liked it till 4.42 pm.

Owaisi was in Ranchi on Sunday to address a election rally organised in favour of BJP rebel Dev Kumar Dhan contesting Mandar bypoll as an independent candidate. He apart from addressing the rally also met the family members of those killed during June 10 violence erupted during a protest march organised without permission of the district administration to condemn the derogatory statement given by suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma regarding Prophet Mohammed.
