Ranchi, May 16: The construction of revamped Jaipal Singh Stadium, which is supposed to get completed by the end of 2022, looks in progress as the majority of work is on the verge of completion.

Currently, the levelling of the ground is still taking place inside the premises of the stadium. The floodlights have also been installed.

Municipal Commissioner of the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) Mukesh Kumar had earlier informed that the work is in progress and by the end of 2022, the people of Ranchi will have a beautiful stadium.

The birth anniversary celebration of Jaipal Singh, which is to be celebrated on January 3, is supposed to be held at the renovated stadium in 2023.

The RMC has taken on the task of modifying the stadium, which will cost Rs 5 crore to complete.

The municipal commissioner had also informed that the stadium will have a football field, lawn tennis and basketball court. A gallery will also be constructed but no such construction work has been seen till now.

He had mentioned in an earlier interview that most of the space will remain filled with greenery and no concrete work will be done.

In order to keep the stadium, RMC will not be building any cafeteria inside the stadium to curb garbage waste.
