Ranchi, July 5: The Afairs Exhibitions and Media Pvt Ltd on Tuesday inaugurated its two-day admission fair at Ranchi Club. As per the organisers, this is a once-in-a-year opportunity for the students, wherein they can visit around 30 universities from all over India, under one roof, without any expenses.

Director Ritesh Jaiswal said, “We have around 25-30 organisations here with us, and we have been organising such a fair for the past 17 years. We organise two exhibitions every year, one of which is a Career Fair, in April. Meanwhile, the other one is the Admissions Fair that we organise in June.”

“We organise Admissions fair after the board exams for both course counselling, along with admissions. We aim to provide all opportunities for students under one roof pan India. We have already organised fairs in Jamshedpur, Kolkata and Patna,” Jaiswal further added.

Regarding the trends of courses in demand, he said, “Earlier, Engineering and Medical were in demand, however, students are now more focused on skill-based vocational courses like mass communication, travel and tourism and hotel management. Some even try getting basic degrees after which they would decide on what they want with their career. Students are also asking more for Law, however, we believe that this will soon die down.”

Upon questions regarding the process, he said that the aim is to focus on the cream students. “We urge them to come to us, gather information and then think of it. If they are okay with it and they have thought enough about it, they may take admission.”

When questioned about the opportunity, Sharathchandra, a +2 student waiting for his CBSE results said, “It is a great opportunity for me. I would have had to visit several states over a period of months for the right fit. Here it will be easier for me along with my parents.”

Organisations including Manipal Tata Medical College, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, SRM Chennai, Sharda University, Amity University, Parul University Gujrat, MIT World Peace University Pune, ICFAI University, BFIT, GIET, Bharath, NITTE, Assam Down Town University, CII Institute of Hospitality, Nalanda University, Acharya, KR Mangalam University, IEM Group along with several others were present on the occasion.
