Ranchi: Students from several states participate in two-day Gossner Cine Fest

Ranchi, Mar 3: A two-day Cine Fest is being organised at Gossner College from Friday. Apart from Jharkhand, students from Bengal and Odisha are also going to participate in the film festival along with students from several colleges in Ranchi will also be part of the film festival. The film festival is set to screen films made by students.

The entry of films is being done through Google Forms. So far, 50+ films have been entered. The two-day film festival will show films of many different categories.

On the first day of the film festival, films were screened in front of the jury and a panel discussion will be organised. A special session with Dr B P Sinha has also been organised. Vivek Aryan, the guest faculty will be present as a moderator of the DSPMU panel. Mahadev Toppo, member of Sahitya Akademi, filmmaker Dilip Dev and former chief of Doordarshan PK Jha will be present as panel members.

Meanwhile, on the final day of the fest, the college chairman, Reverend Johan Dang and Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Manjhi will be present as the chief guests. Some films will also be screened on this day. Documentary filmmaker Purushottam Kumar ‘NPK’, Sudarshan Yadav and Deepak Bara are also expected to attend.

Students from colleges including the Central University of Jharkhand, St. Xavier’s College, SRFTI Kolkata, Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University Ranchi, Jadavpur University, Hooghly College, School of Mass Communication Ranchi University are set to participate in the fest.
