Ranchi, Oct.1: Students from schools, colleges and universities today had firsthand experience of the functioning of Command, Control and Communication Centre (C4) which is being used in the city for electronic surveillance, crime control and traffic regulation besides others.

C4 is located on the third floor of Jharkhand Urban Planning and Management Institute at Dhurwa. Students were noticed visiting there in small groups at 11am. Some of the students were noticed at different roundabouts communicating with the help of C4.

Ranchi Smart City Corporation Limited has given them an opportunity for the same on the occasion of the 75th-year celebration of Indian Independence.

“Union housing and urban affairs secretary Durga Shankar Mishra also visited the place on February 6 this year. During his inspection, he had termed it as the brain of the city and asked authorities how to ensure optimum use of the brain in leakage-free water supply, power supply and cleanliness besides traffic regulation and crime control. Students had firsthand experience of use of this brain,” an official of Jharkhand Urban Planning and Management Institute said.

The official said that C4 is open for students till October 3.
