Ranchi, June 26: In an incident of broad day theft here, miscreants decamped with ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20000 cash from a house in posh Ashok Nagar locality under Argora police station.
According to a locality resident the house belongs to Baijnath Pandey, who deals in battery. It is located in a Twin Tower apartment in front of Road No.5 gate of Ashok Nagar.
“Pandey Ji had left his house with her wife at 11am to attend teacher-parents meeting at Gurunanak School, where his daughter studies. When he returned around 12 noon, he noticed a latch of gate cut. After he entered his flat, he found household materials scattered, steel Almirah open and valuables missing,” the resident said.
An FIR is yet to be registered in this connection. “We have started a probe after collecting CCTV footage of the locality. It appears someone was monitoring his movement after used his short absence to commit theft,” officer-in-charge of Argora police station, Brij Kumar Jha, said.
