Ranchi, Oct 12: A Class IV employee named Dharma Munda died today after falling from the roof of the Tribal and Regional Languages Department at Ranchi University.
As per the information, Munda lived in the residential premises of the TRL department of the university. He had gone to the terrace in the morning to cut the tree branches. While cutting them, his foot is said to have slipped and he fell down the roof. He is said to have died on the spot.
RU Vice-Chancellor Dr Ajit Kumar Sinha has condoled the death of Dharma Munda. He expressed his support for the family and said, “We stand with the family in this time of grief and mourning. Dharma Munda was not just an employee of TRL, he was a member of the university family.”
The VC further informed the police about the incident. Police reached the spot, took the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem. The last rites of Munda will be performed in his village. Arrangements have been made to transport the dead body.
