Ranchi, Feb 3: Keeping in mind the Covid-19 guidelines, the Ranchi University (RU) is set to organize its 35th convocation on February 4. RU PRO Pritam Kumar on Thursday said, “We are inviting a limited number of guests to the function in order to be able to maintain social distance in the 500-seater Aryabhatta auditorium. We have also added an additional 50 chairs to make sure there are no issues regarding seating.”

Regarding the number of people that are set to attend the event, he said, “67 gold medalists and 144 PhD students will be present on the occasion along with around 50 members of the Syndicate. Parents of the students will not be allowed to maintain and follow all guidelines issued by the state government.”

Governor and Chancellor of universities of Jharkhand, Ramesh Bais will be the chief guest of the programme. The RU administration had sent a request to the Governor to preside over the convocation as the chief guest to which the Raj Bhavan secretariat gave its consent.

During the convocation students who have topped higher studies including regular, professional, and vocational courses from RU and its affiliated colleges till December 31 last year will be felicitated with gold medals. Besides, those who completed their Ph.D. will receive their certificates from the Governor.
