Ranchi: Ranchi University has launched a new digital initiative called the ‘Voice of RU’ podcast, with the first episode recorded on May 19, 2026 at the university’s School of Mass Communication studio.
First Episode on Energy Conservation
The inaugural episode featured Vice Chancellor Prof. Saroj Sharma, who shared her thoughts on energy, fuel, and resource conservation. She referenced the Prime Minister’s call for energy conservation and emphasized the need for restrained use of resources, adding that the university campus would make every possible effort toward energy saving. The episode was conducted by university PRO Dr. Smriti Singh through a structured questionnaire.
Weekly Broadcasts With Diverse Content
Prof. Saroj Sharma said that as one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Jharkhand, RU’s achievements and activities deserve wide dissemination. She noted that the School of Mass Communication has well-equipped studio facilities that will support regular podcast recording. The ‘Voice of RU’ podcast will be broadcast every week and will cover university courses, academic activities, career guidance, innovation, and discussions with teachers, officers, experts, and professionals from various fields.

The podcast has been made available on Ranchi University’s official YouTube channel and other social media platforms. The recording was attended by Mass Communication Director Dr. Basant Kumar Jha and several faculty members.
