Ranchi, July 8: A one-day seminar on astrology and Vastu is to be organised by the Department of Sanskrit and Astrology at Ranchi University on July 10. The theme of this one-day seminar is Vastu Vigyan Experimental Side: Contemporary Perspective.
Talking in this regard, Prof Dr Chandrashekhar Mishra said, “We are organising a seminar on Vastu explaining the practical side of Vastu Shastra in the context of symbolism. It was a revered science in the past and is an important part of our lives today. Earlier, castles, temples, houses and even businesses were built following Vastu shastra, and now even bridges are made based on Vastu.”
He further added, “The seminar will talk about the importance of Vastu in businesses while building a house, and construction of advanced infrastructure.”
Talking about the list of issues that papers will be presented on Prof Mishra said, “Vastu Science in Indian Astrology, Vastu Science in Vaidik Literature, Vastu Appropriation Techniques, Principles of Vastu, Vaidik Yagya and Vastu Vigyan, Vastu in Sanskrit Literature, Vastu in city architecture, and Vastu Science and Home Decorations, Vastu in Gardening are some of the topics that will have papers read on at the seminar.”
“Other topics include Importance of Vastu in Indian Device science, Vastu and positioning of idols in temples, Yagya Vedi and Vastu, Jharkhand buildings and Vastu, Importance of Vastu in City development,” the professor added.
Upon being asked about the different researches done in the department, the professor said, “We research several topics through Samhita Jyotish. Astrology believes, that every year a planet becomes the king and others are ministers. For instance, this year, Saturn (Shani) is considered the king. We then inform people of the positive and negative effects of this in their lives, businesses and even the economy in general.”
“Other than that, if Jupiter (Brihaspati) is king for the year, we inform people that that particular year will see peace, wealth and in the case of Saturn, people lose money, and the economy drops,” the professor continued.
The Vice-Chancellor of Ranchi University, Dr Ajit Kumar Sinha and PRO VC Dr Kamini Kumar along with Professor Gangadhar Panda, Vice-Chancellor of Kolhan University (Chaibasa), Professor Sukhdev Bhoi, Vice-Chancellor, Binod Bihari Mahto University, Dhanbad are to be guests on the occasion.
