Ranchi: Woman brutally murdered by crushing with stone

Ranchi, Oct 29: A woman has been brutally murdered by being crushed with a stone in the street near Bazaar Tand of Bedo police station area of the district. This incident is said to have happened late at night.

The deceased has been identified as Poonam Oraon. She used to work as a labourer.

After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the scene, took possession of the body, and initiated further proceedings. The body will be sent for a post-mortem examination on Sunday.

The family members told the police that there was a dispute between their daughter, Poonam Urawa, and their son over the compensation for some land. The dispute was related to land compensation along the Bedo Bypass road. She originally resided in Binay Bagicha, a locality in Bedo. Currently, she was living in a rented house beneath the electricity substation.
