Ranchi, Jan 1: Founder of Ranchi Women’s College, and Congress leader cum former Legislative Councilor Sylvia Bage was buried on Sunday. Notably, she passed on Saturday morning.
Earlier, the body of educationist Sylvia Bage was brought to the state Congress headquarters Ranchi on Sunday for her visitation before burial. Here, State Working President Bandhu Tirkey, State Congress General Secretary cum office in-charge Amulya Neeraj Khalkho and State Congress Committee spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad draped the party flag on the body and paid floral tribute. A large number of party workers were also present on the occasion.
Later, the body of the educationist was buried in the Siram Toli cemetery of GEL Church. During this, her son Sanjeev Bage and others paid their respects.
Expressing condolence at the Congress headquarters, Bandhu Tirkey said that the death Bage was an irreparable loss not only for the Congress party but also for Jharkhand. In this hour of grief, the entire Congress family stands with the bereaved family.
He said that her contribution in social political life, especially in the field of education, for the establishment of colleges will always be remembered. Notably, Bage had been a Legislative Councilor twice from 1986 to 1998. She was the wife of famous Congress leader and former minister of Bihar government Sushil Kumar Bage.
Earlier, Congress President Rajesh Thakur said that her contribution in social political life will always be remembered. Minister Alamgir Alam also expressed grief over the demise of the former MLA.
