Ranchi, Jan 18:  Several students of BBA and MBA departments of Ranchi Women’s College are protesting the Raj Bhawan order to take action against two teachers.

According to reports, Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais has ordered actions against two professors namely Vijayta Singh and Ali Azad Ansari. With regard to Prof Vijayta Singh, allegations have been made that once she was named a member of the placement cell of the college along with other professors, she took over and misused her position for financial gain.

The complainant claims that Prof Singh took several thousand rupees from 36 students under the pretence of an online course from an organization named FINSE RV. Allegedly, despite only 16 girls being granted certification, Prof Singh had provided certification to all at her level.

Anchal, an MBA student, while talking to a Lagatar24 correspondent said, “I have known maam for several years now. These allegations against Vijayta Maam are baseless. She has been one of the most helpful teachers and has always been a support system for us. The 36 students that have given complaints in writing were my juniors and I know exactly what happened during the time money was taken from these students.”

Describing what had happened, Anchal said, “One of the organisations had complained that students joining with them would often not work properly. They had then suggested that Rs 1000 be taken from each student as an incentive, which would be returned to them in due time. The students were also given receipts for the same. None of the students had actually handed over the money to Vijayta maam, nor had they received the receipts from maam. Later, after their time period was over, the 36 students had also returned the amount that they had submitted earlier.”

Sonal (name changed), a BBA student said, “Vijayta maam has often helped us, both emotionally and financially.” Narrating one such incident, Sonal said, “We were supposed to pay college fees, but several of us had financial issues during covid. When we went to Vijayta maam, she readily offered Rs 7000 to several students. Later, she also sponsored our picnic trips when we were unable to pay for them. We did return the money later.”

Shruti (name changed), another BBA student stated, “We have also done courses and have had placements done by Vijayta maam, however, she has never asked us for money for the same. In fact, when needed she has helped us.”

On the other hand, in the case of Ali Azad Ansari, the complainant claims that despite being a Class 3 employee and a non-teaching staff, Ali took graduation classes, set the question paper and evaluated answer sheets. He is also accused of earning money from students in the name of filling forms through computers.

Regarding Ali, Anchal said, “He was working on written instructions from his superiors, for which Ali sir even had written proof. How can action be taken against him, when he was doing something that his superiors instructed him to do in writing.”
