Ranchi, Jan 6: A youth allegedly attacked a bank employee several times with a sharp-edged weapon at the Kanta Toli branch of Axis Bank under the Lower Bazar police station.

The youth, identified as Chotu, committed the crime after some dispute over the deduction of the amount from his account. He fled after the incident.

The officer-in-charge (OC) of Lower Bazar police station Sanjay Kumar confirmed the attack but minimised the incident saying the weapon used for the attack was a blade and the banker sustained a minor injury on his hand.

Asked about action in the matter, OC Kumar said, “The vehicle of the youth has been seized and an attempt is on to arrest him.”
