Ranchi, Dec 4: Online food delivery services were affected in Ranchi as Zomato gig workers, have started their three-day strike on Sunday.

Zomato gig workers had put forward their 10-point demands in front of the Zomato management, which was rejected by the management. In this context, the workers were forced to go on strike . Today the workers of the entire city have refused to take any delivery.

The workers will end the strike with a march to Raj Bhavan on December 6 under the banner of the All India Gig Workers Union affiliated with CITU.

Earlier, around 400 Zomato delivery workers have gone on strike in Jamshedpur due to a newly-introduced system that is affecting their livelihood. Since April, they have put a halt on their services to protest against the ‘GIGS’ System, under which employees who book more orders will get the necessary incentives and benefits for their work.
