CONRAD DIAS
Ranchi, May 19: Getting map clearance from Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) is a tough affair in the city. There is no fixed amount of time provided by the corporation for the clearance of a map to building a house or commercial building.
However, despite this, there are many private hospitals located at the heart of the city which does not have any proper parking facilities. The buildings are usually built in a small area and there is no place for people to park vehicles. This often leads to long traffic jams during the peak hours of the day.
The question arises is how do these hospitals get the map clearance from RMC if they do not have any proper space to park vehicles? Apart from these, Hotel Arya which is situated in Lalpur is another prime example of how a property’s map has been cleared despite having no proper parking space.
To get these answers, lagatar24.com tried to contact RMC commissioner Mukesh Kumar to get insight into the whole scenario but the official has refused to give any statement regarding the issue.
With regard to the clearance of map from the RMC, Gupta, a business from Ranchi shared his experience and difficulties faced while getting the clearance from RMC for his organisation.
“Getting the clearance from RMC is the toughest thing one could think of. There is no proper response from the RMC officials about the procedure. Apart from that, no fixed amount is to be paid and at times it can take months for the map to get cleared by the RMC,” Gupta said.
He added that the process starts with the filing of an application after which we get an application number. The file is then moved to the legal team to check if all the protocols are followed correctly. They charge some amount which can vary.
The next step involves the town planner who takes the maximum time to move the file. He can take months to clear the file which can range from 2-to 4 months.
After all this, the file is finally moved to the Municipal Commissioner who does the final check and approves or disapproves the map.
As per the data, a total of 3000 map clearance applications were submitted at RMC out of which 2,600 maps were approved for clearance.
It is worth mentioning that states such as Uttar Pradesh follow the single window system that is mandated by the state government and allows for the submission of information to fulfil regulatory requirements between economic operators and government authorities.
Implementation of a single-window system will help in Booming the infrastructure condition of Jharkhand and will eventually generate unemployment.
