Hazaribag, July 11: JMM district president Shambhu Lal Yadav is in trouble as a woman lodged an FIR in the Vishnugarh police station charging him of raping her on the pretext of marriage. The woman said Yadav had even taken Rs 11 lakh from her.

In her complaint, she said both came in contact with each other some five years ago. She said whenever Yadav used to go to Ranchi, he didn’t forget to meet her. During such times, she said Yadav established a sexual relationship with her. She said, on Sunday she went to Yadav’s house in Vishnugarh but was beaten and forced to leave by his relatives.

The JMM’s central committee, meanwhile, removed him from the post and formed a three-member committee to probe the allegation.

Yadav denied all the allegations and said she is trying to implicate him falsely. Officer-in-charge Ram Narayan Singh confirmed getting the complaint and registering an FIR against Yadav. Sources said police are probing the case and also going through the evidence provided by the woman, including a few photographs as well.
