Record Covid vaccination in East Singhbhum

Jamshedpur, Aug 25:  The East Singhbhum district created a record of sorts when the single day Covid-19 vaccination on Tuesday touched a figure of 22,730.

District health department officials confirmed that 22,730 vaccinations were the highest on a single day.

Tuesday’s figure surpassed the previous highest figure of 22,491 recorded on August 23.

Data revealed that on June 25, East Singhbhum had witnessed 22,337 Covid jabs.

The maximum number of Covid vaccination was administered at various centres of Parsudih and Sundernagar.

Apart from online slot booking, vaccination was also provided at various centres on walk-in mode for those above 44 years of age.

In-charge of vaccination cell and Dhalbhum SDO Sandeep Kumar Meena expressed happiness over the jab drive in the district.

” Thanks to the health department officials and others associated with the vaccination drive. There is no dearth of vaccines in the district. We want that maximum people should get the benefit of the vaccination drive,” said the SDO.

Health department officials said that the vaccination drive was going on smoothly in various urban and rural centres of East Singhbhum on Wednesday too.
