Jamshedpur, Feb 9: The Adityapur Municipal Corporation has created a record of sorts as it surpassed its revenue collection target two months ahead of the completion of the current financial year 2021-2022.

The municipal corporation has already collected revenue of Rs 4.17 crore through holding tax against a target of Rs 4.11 crore.

Thus, it has achieved a cent percent target of revenue collection.

Sources said in the last fiscal 2020-2021 it could achieve only 89 percent of the target.

Apart from the holding tax, the municipal corporation achieved another record.

The number of households increased to 39,149 from earlier 36,489. It means there has been an increase in 2,660 households.

Nodal officer of Adityapur Municipal Corporation, Debashis Pradhan, who looks after holding tax revenue generation, was happy.

“Covid’s third wave failed to have any impact on revenue generation. We got success in creating awareness about holding taxes among the residents. Micromanagement and guidelines provided by the urban development commissioner were implemented properly and we got the results,” he said.

The senior official of the municipal body thanked all those associated with the revenue generation work.
