Ranchi, Dec.25: Regional labour commissioner (Central) S.K.Nayak has called the HEC management for a joint discussion on the industrial dispute on December 27 in his office in the Jharkhand capital.
A letter informing about the meeting was sent to the HEC CMD as well as the trade union leaders on December 23.
This time the regional commissioner wants a director rank officer from HEC to participate in the discussion with all relevant documents, evidence, written comments. Failing which the regional commissioner threatened to proceed with the matter ex-parte.
The office of the regional commissioner is at E-191, Sector-II in HEC Township in Dhurwa and it is expected that a big number of workers will remain present there from 3.30 pm when the discussion will start and trade union leaders will raise the demand of payment of seven months wage of over 3500 labourers.
Last time when the meeting was held with the regional commissioner the HEC management had assured payment of 15 days by December 24 and the management paid the amount to the workers.
