Republic Day set as new deadline for 100% Covid vaccination in Ranchi

Ranchi, Jan 18: After missing the deadline of January 15 to complete the 100% vaccination in the district, the administration has geared up to complete the full coverage of the vaccination by January 26.

According to Deputy Development Commissioner Vishal Sagar, there are some blocks where 100% vaccination work of the first dose has been done and, in some blocks, 100% vaccination work of the second dose will be completed soon.

“Namkum and Ratu are two such blocks in Ranchi district, where the work of the first dose of Covid-19 has been more than 100 per cent. In Namkum-109.5% and in Ratu-102.6% of the first dose vaccination has been completed. Also, more than 90% vaccination (1st dose) has been completed in Ormanjhi, Burmu and Lapung,” he said.

“Ratu could become the first block of Ranchi district, where 100 per cent Covid-19 vaccination would take place. Till now both the doses of Covid vaccine have been given to 87.7% of the total population in the block,” he added.

As of January 16, a total of 30,20,308 doses of both the first and second dose have been administered among the 21,30,936 eligible population in the age group of 18+. The data shows that a total of 12,41,564 doses are to be administered till January 26 to achieve 100% vaccination coverage in the district.

According to the calculation, about 1,24,156 doses are to be administered on a daily basis to complete the vaccination coverage among the 18+ populace of the district.
