Ranchi, March 2: Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has planned to set up open gyms near Adivasi Hostel and Doctors Colony in Bariatu, Ranchi. As per the information provided by RMC, the cost of building the parks is estimated to be Rs. 28.8 lacs. RMC has also come up with a tender for this project.
An official from RMC has said that the Municipal Corporation has decided to set up open gyms so that people of all ages can adapt to a healthy lifestyle.
“After the dangerous second wave of covid, people have become more health-conscious and in order for people to stay fit we are setting up open gyms. The construction will start in the coming three months,” he added.
A total of 15 different pieces of equipment will be installed in the open gym. These will include an arm wheel, air walker, chest and shoulder press, triple twister, leg press, parallel bar, arm and pedal bike and monkey bar. Apart from these, there will be swings for children.
Notably, RMC has earlier set up open gyms in eight different parks in the city in early 2021. They include Park at Dhurwa, HEC, Doranda, Morabadi,Kanke Road, Harmu housing colony and Bariatu Housing Colony.
