Rohit Sharma congratulates Kohli on successful stint as India’s captain

New Delhi, Jan 16: Indian opener and white ball skipper Rohit Sharma was shocked at Virat Kohli’s decision to quit test captaincy but has congratulated Kohli on his successful stint as the Indian Test captain for 7 long years. Virat Kohli revealed his decision to step down as India’s Test captain via social media on Saturday, a day after India’s three-match Test series loss to South Africa away from home.

Rohit Sharma on Sunday shared a picture of him with Kohli and extended his best wishes for the future.

“Shocked!! But congratulations on a successful stint as Indian captain,” Rohit wrote in an Instagram post.

Notably, Kohli holds the record for most test appearances as Indian Test captain (68) and he also holds the record for most test wins by an Indian captain (40).
