Rotaract Club of Social Revolution begins book donation drive at XISS

Ranchi, April 25: The Rotaract Club of Social Revolution (RCSR) launched its book donation drive, ‘Aapki Pustakein, Aapki Pehchan’, at the Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi campus in the presence of Director, Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ and all members of the club on Monday.

The objective of the programme is to make knowledge accessible to all. The club plans to organise an ongoing drive throughout the year. The club director inaugurated the initiative and stated, “Knowledge is the tool for a better tomorrow and this initiative will surely bring a positive impact on the society.”

The RCSR Club inspired a large number of people to donate old books and reading material and the event witnessed huge participation. The collection from this drive will be donated to orphanages, schools and needy students in slum areas. Seeing this effort of the club, Dr Mahua Banerjee, Dr Amit Giri, and Dr Mrityunjay Roy went ahead and donated the books, while others will contribute soon.

XISS Students’ Club Coordinator Shruti Sahay, RCSR President Pratik Dwivedi along with club members including Anima, Aryan, Nitin, Sangeeta, Abhishek, Dhirendra, Sneha, Pratiksha and Akanksha were present during the programme.
